Phelps on Colbert

Wow Colbert's comment on if Phelps mimics the motions of swimming after he gets out of the pool is pretty hilarious.

10 Years from Now

Today, my dad had his colonoscopy and I was there to drive him home. When I went into the check up area the nurse briefly went over his results which were normal (so good news). Then she says, "Next time you need a check up is in 10 years. By then you'll have grandchildren."

Uh.... yea... grandchildren... in 10 years I'll be 33. It would be scary to think now if I will have a child and since it is scary to think about it, I am not thinking about it. But really her comment, gave me a little jolt like "Shit!! Kids!! 10 Years!!" Not going to put a timeline on this because it's scary.

What will we be doing in 10 years?

What were we doing 10 years ago? Middle school, teenage angst. Seems so far away.

Lesbian Rapper

So I stumbled on this music video and it kinda cracked me up cuz it's just like any other hiphop video with the usual hootchies and womanizing theme but with an out lesbian rapper, so does it make it ok? I always think I can trash women I am one, it's like if I make fun of asians, it's ok because I am one. I'm not feeling the song too much but some of her other stuff on her myspace has a better beat.

Can Rice Lead to Gold? Marathon Will Offer Test

This paragraph grabbed my attention in this article.

Can Rice Lead to Gold? Marathon Will Offer Test (NY Times)

To view the Olympic course, Mimura went to China in April for the Beijing Marathon. He found the course to be flat but composed of various surfaces, including stone (that could cause slipping); newly paved asphalt (which will increase the heat); and concrete that appeared harder than Japanese concrete (perhaps because Beijing’s main roads are meant to accommodate tanks and other military vehicles).

Like what???? did you really just say that?! that was so long ago, such an outdated reference.

Politiks Free

With all the politic and controversy surround the Olympics and Olympic torch, I just don't want to get into it... so I'm not...

Instead, I am going to update on absolutely useless information.

Actually, I don't really feel like I have much to update on... Ok I have a lot to update on but all the interesting stuff is too incriminating to put up in a public domain like this. So if you really want to know the interesting stuff, give me a holla.

So some semi-interesting stuff.

I've started to play lacrosse again. I know!! I didn't know I'd get back into it this soon, but destiny calls in the June tournament that will be in Beijing. So now I might be giving up my Saturday nights to trek across town to practice on Sunday nights, because with any person with some Chinese origin knows about the concept of "losing" face, basically getting schooled/ embarassed. And in this tournament will be an American team and hell we can't just let them roll over us!!!

Our team has a lot of training to go as most girls have played for less than 1 year, which puts us with a slight disadvantage... But I believe in this team! We're gonna get it done.

Switching subjects, Chinese people do not know how to play April Fool's jokes. One friend, said she was going to marry a gay guy in a month. This was too easy to figure out so it wasn't really that funny. Another friend sent a text basically professing her love and I was doubtful but then it was all in Chinese so I was getting confused if it was a joke or not... in the end it was a terrible April Fool's joke and something you should not be throwing around so casually...

Finally, that day another friend invited me to go out but by then I was so cautious as to who was being serious I probably asked her 3 times if she was really going to the bar or would I expect to be stood up... she was actually being serious, so it was nice seeing her :) so the day ended well.

That's all my semi-interesting news... for the real dirt, catch me on gtalk, aim, msn, skype.

春节快乐!!! Happy Spring Festival!!!

好久不见。 Long time no see.

MIA for a long time but I have some excuses:

1. I ended school - passed so that's all that matters

2. I have a job - working 9-6 now

3. I found a new apartment here - it's near the subway, near transportation to work, and most importantly near the bar street :)

Gotta go see the fam soon so more details later!

Ye-ah 2008!!

Some of my favorites (may or may not be true...)

Let's take a closer look...
Yes, Badass, fake cigarette chains... it can go with my bottles of tequila necklace

Favorite food: 火锅 Hotpot

hmmm what can be inside that soup?

The meat that "brings out the fire" (上火) so it makes us all warm during the cold winter.

Alex and Michael are pretty happy!!!

Favorite drink: Absolut Vodka... very smooth

The night we finished a fifth in less than an hour

Camera propped on the frig... aim was questionable... our state of minds were also questionable
